Accurate building modeling and simulation along with simulations used to determine the size and cost of a GHX provides our clients with the information needed to make decisions on the type of mechanical system for their facilities, and whether or not a Geo-Exchange system is ideal for this building application.

When constructing a GeoExchange system, Geo-Xergy recommends for some projects that ground conditions are confirmed through a thermal conductivity test. Geo-Xergy works with local drillers to drill a test borehole. The test hole is used to confirm the geology and allows us to test the ability of the ground to transfer energy to and from the building.

The test hole will ideally be located on the site to allow its use in the final borehole field. The results of the thermal conductivity test are used to fine tune the design of the GHX.
