Feasibility Studies
For a building owner, it’s economics that will determine the feasibility of installing a geothermal system in their building. “What is the return on their investment” is the primary question asked by most building owners. Unfortunately there is no “rule of thumb” that helps estimate the payback for a specific building with any accuracy.
By developing a detailed building energy model it is possible to estimate energy consumption of a proposed building with a reasonable accuracy. More importantly, along with some knowledge of the geological conditions and the size of the building site, it is possible to calculate the size of the ground heat exchanger required for the building and estimate the cost of constructing it.
Using the building energy model, Geo-Xergy works with your design team to reduce and balance the energy loads to and from the ground heat exchanger and optimize the system to minimize your first cost and maximize your energy cost savings.
