Ed Lohrenz, B.E.S., CGD: With thirty years experience in the geothermal industry, Ed has had the opportunity to work in wide range of projects. He has pioneered the integration of ice rink refrigeration and ice storage systems with heat pumps and a ground heat exchanger. He has worked across Canada, in the U.S. and internationally. Ed has developed training courses for the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) and the Canadian GeoExchange Coalition (CGC) and has conducted workshops in 5 countries.
Sergio Almeida, P.Eng: Specializing in integrated mechanical system design, Sergio capitalizes on his detailed knowledge of control systems and mechanical equipment, and is able to optimize systems to find the greatest long-term value for building owners. Sergio is registered as a Professional Engineer with over nine years of experience in the Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) industry. Sergio is a Past-President of the Manitoba Chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and served as the Chair of the Better Buildings Conference & Exhibition in 2010.
Eric Germain: Eric’s background as a geothermal contractor has added insight in the design of cost-effective geothermal system designs and implementation, and has helped develop a solid site inspection and commissioning program for Geo-Xergy. His hands on experience has helped develop a solid quality assurance / quality control program for our projects. His field experience has also helped develop a program to determine problems and issues with existing, poorly operating systems.
